On the surface Catholics should be pleased that the Bishops have met with Obama to address our concerns – finally – after three years of the most blatantly aggressive actions taken against our faith and values by any administration in the history of this country. To name of few: So, again, that Dolan met with Obama to discuss concerns like these sounds awesome on the surface, but let us remember somethings here. This action by the Bishops should have taken place in 2009 and 2010. We are in election year now. Barack Obama won in 2008 in great part because 54% of Catholics voted for him. Back then the Bishops were not vocal enough in telling the people of God who this man is and why they should not vote for him. Now here we go again sending mixed messages. Here comes Dolan emerging from the meeting singing confusing songs of fellowship and partnership with our enemy: What is Dolan thinking? Obama is not sensitive to what we believe. He doesn’t care! I actually don’t think Dolan knows who he is dealing with here. Perhaps he doesn’t he remember the show Obama put on at Notre Dame in 2009? Obama is cunning! He uses carefully crafted opportunities like these to assuage (dupe is a better word) Catholics into thinking that he is with them and for them, because he knows that he cannot win in 2012 without the Catholic vote. So, here we go again with Obama trying to trick Catholics into thinking that he believes in some middle ground; that he is a centrist; that he cares a flying fart about human life and marriage. And he is setting Dolan up to get him back into the White House. What worse, Dolan has set up a series of meetings with Obama next year (election year), which are going to confuse Catholics into thinking that it is perfectly fine to vote for him again. And for his part, Dolan is helping to hoodwink, bamboozle, and lead astray Catholics by allowing Obama to use him during this election year. Just recently it was announced that Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State, would visit Burma. Why after three years of not carrying about human rights or religious liberties why do they care now? It’s election year – that’s why – it’s transparent. Why Dolan can’t see it? I don’t know. Wake up Archbishop Dolan – recognize the hour! You have walked onto a field of landmines that you cannot negotiate through. If Obama man is reelected in 2012 – fine – work with him then, but for now what you need to be doing is solidifying the Catholic vote to remove this enemy of God from office. We need your to help us do just that one thing. Focus with us! There is only one goal here, which is the removal of Barack Obama from the presidency of the United States of America through a peaceful election. Focus! Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley Under Fire This comes even in the wake of Cardinal O’Malley being elected Chairman of USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities on November 17, 2011. So how was one of the weakest Bishops on marriage and defense of life elected to this position during an election year? I have no idea, but read the appeal by the Boston Insider to see the rest of the issues that they have been having this guy (click here).
On November 8, 2011 New York Archbishiop Timothy Dolan, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) met with President Barack Obama in order to discuss “pertinent moral concerns arising in foreign and domestic policy, issues of both agreement and disagreement.”
In my article Why Boston’s Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley is Dead Wrong I already talked about his failure to articulate and support the teaching of the Church as all faithful Catholics would expect from a leader of the Church. Now the Boston Catholic Insider has launched a S.O.S. Appeal to the Vatican, asking for Stronger Episcopal Leadership in Boston.
