The Georgetown University Scandal

by

Petition to Georgetown President DeGioia

Dear President DeGioia:
It has come to the attention of The Cardinal Newman Society and the following signers that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has been granted the honor of speaking at the commencement ceremony for Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute on Friday, May 18. We strongly urge you to withdraw the invitation to Secretary Sebelius immediately.

It is scandalous and outrageous that America’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university has elected to provide this prestigious platform to a publicly “pro-choice” Catholic who is most responsible for the Obama administration’s effort to restrict the Constitution’s first freedom — the right to free exercise of religion — while threatening the survival of many Catholic and other religious colleges and universities, schools, charities, hospitals and other apostolates.

Georgetown insults all Americans by this honor. The selection is especially insulting to faithful Catholics and their bishops, who are engaged in the fight for religious liberty and against abortion. The contrast is stark between Georgetown University and those faithful Catholic colleges and universities that have stood for faith and freedom.

Sincerely,

Patrick J. Reilly
President

The American Jesuit War Against the Catholic Church Continues
The vast majority of the twenty-eight Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States that belong to the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) are proving to be enemies of the Catholic Church. If you don’t believe me just do a word search for “jesuit” on the The Cardinal Newman Society website and you’ll get over 500 search result; in which you’ll find a disturbing pattern with these universities.

All of the universities in the US that the Jesuits established are not cesspools of institutional evil that Satan is using to try to weaken and undermine only the Church that Jesus Christ established, but there are far and beyond enough of them I believe for the Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith to look into addressing their attack on our Church, just as they too measures to address the issue with female religious in this country. It’s time for these so-called Catholic universities, and those like them, that don’t support and hold fast to the teachings of the Catholic Church to either re-constitute themselves or stop identifying themselves as Catholic universities.
