ABC News reports that in a note accompanying the bill, Christie said that he believes that people are born gay and that homosexuality is not a sin. The Republican governor also said the health risks of trying to change a child’s sexual orientation outweigh concerns over the government setting limits on parental choice. Christie decided to go ahead and ignore the health risk of Hell. These health risks supposedly associated with sexual inclination therapy include depression, substance abuse, social withdrawal, decreased self-esteem and suicidal thoughts. A few of the agencies responsible for deducing those risk are The American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association and American Psychological Association.
By the way, the American Psychiatric Association is the same agencies that removed homosexuality as a mental disorder from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1973. This action was not based upon science, but rather was a response to their members being bullied, threatened, and blackmailed by radical gay activists (see: Exposed: The Myth That Psychiatry Has Proven That Homosexual Behavior Is Normal).
Ok, let’s check the score real quick. Uhm, so, sexual inclination therapy is bad, but drug dependency therapy is good, even though we all know that people who experience withdrawal from chemical dependency also suffer from depression, return to substance abuse, social withdrawal, decreased self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts? No to sexual inclination therapy, but Yes to sexual gender change surgery. Hrmmm…. I digress.
For some of the very same reasons that faithful Catholics could not vote for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, they can neither vote for Governor Christie for anything he runs for. Christie is weak on the right to life for all children conceived in the womb (read transcript of interview); he is weak on natural marriage, having opened up the door to it by favoring civil unions, and he has now signed a law that forbids parents in New Jersey from getting their children help and relief from the inclination of sinful behavior.
Chris Christie has not only proven to be a Republican in Name Only (RINO), but he, even more so, has proven himself to be a Catholic in Name Only (CINO). In a June 14, 2011 interview with Piers Morgan he admitting that the teachings of the Catholic Church do not completely form his conscience. Asked by Piers whether he can divorce his Catholic faith from his politics, Christie said, “Now, my Catholicism informs part of who I am. But it does not rule who I am.” That in itself begs the question that if his faith doesn’t completely inform him, what or who does? Obviously from his actions today, we know that it is Satan who informs him.
When asked directly by Piers Morgan if homosexuality is a sin, Christie replied, “Well, my religion says it’s a sin. I mean, I think — but for me I don’t — I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual. And so, I think if someone is born that way, it’s very difficult to say then that that’s a sin. But I understand that my church says that. But for me personally, I don’ t look upon someone who is homosexual as a sinner.”
If you read the interview, it seems that Piers was asking whether homosexual ACTS are a sin, even though he said “homosexuality”. Nevertheless, in regards to what the Church actually teaches, what Christie gave here was either a wrong answer if he talking about same gender attraction (homosexuality), or a correct answer if he was talking about homosexual acts. According to Paragraph No 2357 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.”
This is so sad – so pathetic! With CINO Paul Ryan having come out in support of gay adoptions, CINO Bobby Jindal chiming in for support of the liberal distribution of oral abortifacient drugs, and now CINO Chris Christie coming out in support of homosexual behavior, faithful Catholics are wondering whether we will ever see a true Catholic as a viable Presidential candidate.
