This brief article is going to look at what the Catholic Church teaches about the Sacrament of Baptism and compare it to what the Fathers of the Church taught and wrote on this subject, to demonstrate the consistency of our doctrine.

Altogether the popular phrase ‘We are Church’ has no place in Christianity; simply because it is absolutely linear and fails to reflect or embody the total sum of teaching from Christ Jesus and the Apostles about what the Church actually is.

Protestant Preacher Michael Grenier blogged four reasons why he is no longer Catholic. In response I blogged four reasons why he is doesn’t actually know why he’s not Catholic.

This last of my Six Proofs of the Catholic Church is the most succinct and shortest of them all. Simply put, the Catholic Church works; it was created by God to facilitate that unique union between God and man, and that is precisely what it has done since the resurrection of Christ the Lord.

Now in the second Theological Proof that the Catholic Church is the only community of Churches that Christ Jesus established through His Apostles I revisit the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist with another excerpt from the Eighth Chapter of my Book Cooperating with God: Life with the Cross where I treat the Sixth Chapter of John’s Gospel. Where your a Catholic or a Protestant depends solely on your interpretation of this chapter.

By borrowing some paragraphs from my book Cooperating with God: The Life with the Cross (Chapter Eight), in Part 4 (below) I will demonstrate why we must still celebrate the Passover Meal that God commanded us to always do (Exodus 12) and how the Sacrament of the Eucharist, as celebrated only in the Catholic Church, is Christ Jesus’ fulfillment of the Old Covenant Passover.

I challenge anyone to prove the name of the founder of the Catholic Church other than Christ Jesus. There being none, the questions that follows is, ‘Why belong to a Church that was started by some man or woman that was not an Apostle of Christ Jesus?’

Essentially what the Protestant belief has to offer us is something quite unscriptural and cheap. Their belief that being ‘born again’ makes us one Church is not only not found anywhere in the Bible, but it literally spits in the face of what Jesus actually promised us. He promised us ONE Church – not 33,000 different and competing denominations.

Even without much of a commentary, what I have proven with these texts from the Gospels, the Apostles, and the Fathers of the Church, all talking about a ‘Church’, that there is a substantive link between them. That is, they are all talking about the SAME Church (the Catholic Church). All of these men, within a 100 year time-frame, are all connected by this same united community that they are all writing and speaking about.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose. [...]
