A Cry for Justice
For this installation of the David L. Gray show, I will be speaking with author Gary B. Agee about his book, A Cry for Justice. In this book, Agee documents the life of Daniel Rudd, who was born a slave in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1854 – a value of $250, and by 1889 would become one of the nation’s best-known Black Catholics. Rudd was a pioneer in journalism, and his American Catholic Tribune was one of the most successful Black newspapers in the country.
Tune in as I talk with Gary B. Agee about this amazing book of his, and the very inspirational figure of Daniel Rudd.
